The Rotary Club of Charlottetown Royalty is happy to announce their sponsorship of Dana Kenny as outbound exchange student for 2010-2011.
Dana, a 17 year old student at Colonel Gray, is a man of many talents with a strong sense of “service above self”. He is a past Lieutenant Governor of KEY (Kiwanis Educated Youth) Clubs in the Atlantic region, and an active member of the local school club. He also serves as Treasurer of Colonel Gray Student Council, and participates in the school’s Free the Children group. In addition, Dana is an ambassador to the Kids Help phone line. While in junior high school, he assisted the PEI Healthy Eating Alliance with the the promotion of healthy food practices in the Eastern school district.
When not engaged in service activities, Dana is busy practicing the bass clarinet or helping with chores around the house. He has also enjoyed fencing with the university-based team. Last year he participated in a two-month French language exchange to Quebec, and in March of 2010, he will travel to Costa Rica with Canada World Youth. Already a seasoned traveller in North America, he hopes to make Europe his destination in 2010. His country choices for his youth exchange year are Spain, Monaco, Greece, Cyrpus, or Italy – any of these should help prepare him for a promising career in the Foreign Service!
Dana is the third of four children (brothers Rory and Rufus and younger sister Lorelei). His parents are Morgan Kenny and Rayne Plettell-Kenny of Charlottetown.
