The Business Advertising Supplement

Business SupplementFor the past 23 years the Rotary Club of Charlottetown Royalty has produced a photographic business advertising supplement that has been distributed throughout the province through the Island's major newspapers. Producing 45,000 copies each year has virtually guaranteed distribution to every Island home.

The project, while complex in some regards, is simple to understand in theory. The members of our Club act as salespeople in the community and as such, they sell advertising space for an all inclusive price to businesses, organizations and individuals. The one price charged is competitive with what an ad would cost for a single day inserted in the major papers. As a bonus, the photography, design and production is also included in this price which makes the cost very attractive.

This is truly a Win-Win-Win project in that the advertiser is receiving true advertising value for less than market cost, the newspapers who gratefully accept this publication for distribution are paid a fee for its insertion and, the Rotary Club of Charlottetown Royalty raises money through having a volunteer sales staff and keeping overhead to an absolute minimum.

The only real costs associated with the project are design, photography, printing and insertion. Due to the fact that there are no staff involved in the co-ordination of the project, it is a lucrative means by which to raise the needed funds for Rotary's various projects. Above all, the businesses participating in the Annual Supplement are to be commended for their ongoing support of this project and Rotary in general.

The supplement appears in the Island newspapers in March of each year and the sales campaign for the following year begins shortly after. Photographs are generally taken in the summer. If you would like to be contacted for more information or to place an ad in the supplement, send an e-mail to info@rotaryroyalty.ca.
