What's new to the Rotary Club of Charlottetown
Royalty?
March, 2010 - The club approved a donation of up to $9,000 for the repair and replacement of a roof on Grandmother House, a homeless shelter for aboriginal and non-aboriginal women operated by the Native Council of PEI.
February, 2010 - The annual Rotary Youth Parliament was held on February 19-20.
February, 2010 - February and March are difficult months for donations at the Food Bank. Our Community Outreach committee wanted to help so we have declared February Food Bank month for our Rotary Club.
During the month of February a table was set up at the meetings to collect non-perishable food items for the Food Bank.
January, 2010 - With the January 2010 earthquake disaster in Haiti the Rotary Club of Charlottetown responded by purchasing ten more shelterboxes, bringing the total to 22 that the club has purchased to date.
December, 2009 - Club members can now link into the club membership database.
November, 2009 - Board of Directors elected for 2010-11 Rotary year.
November, 2009 - Dana Kenny is chosen as the RCCR's 2010-11 Rotary Youth Exchange outbound student.
October, 2009 - The Mentor Award presented to Marlene Bryanton
October, 2009 - The Harry MacLauchlan Award for Vocational Excellence is presented to Rotarian Dianne Griffin.
October, 2009 - True Rotarian Award presented to Rotarian Bev Simpson.
October, 2009 - Rotary Club of Charlottetown Royalty sends 151 bicycles to Namibia.
August 2009 - RCCR's 2009-10 Inbound Youth Exchange Student, Clement, arrived from Belgium.
August 2009 - Outbound Rotary Youth Exchange Student, Kaleb Zelman, left for Switzerland.
July, 2009 - New Board of Directors of the Rotary Club of Charlottetown Royalty installed.
June, 2009 - $33,961 is raised for the QEH Foundation, in the 6th annual 'Great Day' Fore Health, Harry MacLauchlan Memorial Golf Tournament.
June 2009 - Members of the Rotary Club build two mini-barns for Habitat for Humanity.
April 2009 - The Rotary Club of Charlottetown Royalty purchased 5 additional Shelter Boxes, bringing the total to ten to date.
April 2009 - Island Rotary clubs launch literacy project.
April 2009 - RCCR club members participate in an Earth Day Litter Clean-up.
March 2009 - Rotary Club of Charlottetown Royalty purchases a steer at the Easter Beef sale, for the Upper Room food kitchen.
Jan. 2009 - Club receives greetings from the Rotary Club of Howe of Fife, Scotland
